Kenny Forman

About 

Kenny Forman is a current freelance journalist for The Long Island Press. In May of 2025, Kenny graduated from Hofstra University's Lawrence Herbert School of Communication in Hempstead, New York, with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a Concentration in Sports Media, as well as minors in Computer Science and Spanish.

 

At Hofstra, Kenny served as the Director of News Reporting at Hofstra's four-time Marconi Award winning radio station, 88.7 FM, WRHU New York, in 2024.  He regularly produced, anchored, wrote, and reported for WRHU's half hour student run news broadcast, Newsline. Additionally, he is a play-by-play and color commentator for Hofstra athletics and Long Island Ducks baseball games. Kenny also appears regularly as a personality on several of WRHU's sports talk shows. Kenny is also a board operator for Hofstra athletics, as well as New York Islanders hockey games.

 Kenny regularly contributed as a staff writer for The Hofstra Chronicle. He has covered a variety of Hofstra athletics, providing recaps on games, and writing feature articles on Hofstra athletes.

In the fall of 2023, Kenny completed an internship with the Long Island Press. In this role he regularly covered local news throughout Long Island. His work has been featured in both online and magazine editions of The Long Island Press, Dan's Papers, Behind The Hedges, and PoliticsNY. In the Fall of 2024, he completed an internship with FOX 5 New York (WNYW), where he worked at the assignment desk, and assisted producers and reporters.

In 2024, Kenny was awarded First Place by the Press Club of Long Island for Student Journalism Radio - News Story, for a radio package he made titled "Massapequa Center Nursing & Rehabilitation Workers Voice Concerns".
